Tip 1.36: You can hide the status bar

She’s not sure why you may want to hide the status bar. Maybe when you are in Full Screen mode, you want those extra few pixels at the bottom for a true full-screen experience.

Whatever the reason, you can go to Tools–Options–Environment–General and uncheck Show Status Bar. Now Visual Studio does not have a status bar.

And while we’re on the subject of the status bar, here’s another quick tip to keep in mind if you choose to leave the status bar showing. You can double-click the section of the status bar that shows the line, column, and character to pop up the Go To Line dialog box.
